The Ordinary General Assembly of the Arab Bank - Syria held its meeting on Thursday, 27/4/2017 at the Four Seasons Hotel in Damascus. The meeting was attended by representatives of Ministry of Internal Trade and Consumer Protection and Central Bank of Syria ,Syrian Securities and Exchange Commission, and Bank management and shareholders.

The Chairman of the Board Dr. Khaled Wasef Al-Wazni spoke about the most important fluctuations in the global economic scene,and   concentrated on developments in the regional arena, the difficult and unusual conditions experienced by the Syrian economy and the accompanying  economic sanctions imposed on the country  all these , and  many others , conclued a significant negative impact on the various economic sectors, especially the banking sector, which was affected negatively and significantly by suffering difficult conditions experienced by national economy in various sectors, which in turn increased the risk of employment and decline in employment opportunities The Director General, Mr. Mohamed Al Hassan, highlighted the Bank's financial results for the year 2016, focusing on the provisions of the bank's provisions and the Bank's efforts in the collection and follow-up of bad debts.
